The last week or so has been uneventful, for the most part. The weather hasn't exactly been great. As it is, we are in the depths of winter here but I must say that so far winter in Poland has been mild and that is a good thing for us and the kids. Tarnów has a great downtown area for some exploring and we've walked these street numerous times before. It was an overcast day with no sun in sight but we still managed to get some steps in and explore a bit before picking up the kids from school.

The kids have both been really enjoying their private school here. We drop them off around 8:00 am each morning and then get back home to our own projects and work. At about 4:00 pm we pick them up and they are always eager to show and tell us what they've learned or created that day.
"Tłusty Czwartek" or Fat Thursday for the non-Polish speakers is a popular tradition here in Poland. It's on the last Thursday before lent where people indulge in large quantities of sweets, especially doughnuts or pączki, as a way to feast before the period of fasting during lent. We stood in line at this bakery for about an hour to get the most delicious pączki we've ever had. They only sold them filled with "róża" or rose, the authentic one not the imitation stuff. It was worth the wait, and luckily we made it back to our car with a minute to spare on the parking meter. Let's just say it was a 10 minute power walk back with our goods. We scored awesome pączki and dodged a parking ticket. It was a win-win in my book.
Delivery day. I finally ordered some grass-fed beef from a local company I found online. Many kilos of ground beef, liver, heart and soup bones. Good stuff.
Another package arrived from the USA. This time it was an unexpected surprise as we had no idea who sent it and what it was. Upon further review we found out that my mom sent the boys a few items along with a bottle of goat colostrum to help our weak immune systems since the kids often bring something home from school.
The kids' school posts pictures to social media of what they are up to during their time there. Damian looked laser focused writing his numbers.
"Letni Park Wodny" is a huge gated waterpark property that belongs to the city. During the summer months, the pool with multiple slides is open to the public for a fee. During the fall and winter months they close the pool and open up a skating rink, again for a fee. It's nice to have all these amenities 5 minute walking distance from our condo but the fees can add up quickly for a family if you're a frequent visitor.
